The Presidential Media team has hailed the technological transformation and innovative investments in industrial development in critical sectors being carried out at the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) under the Executive Vice Chairman/CEO, Khalil Suleiman Halilu.

The Presidential team was on a media tour of NASENI’s facilities at the agency’s headquarters at Idu Industrial zone and other parts of the Federal Capital Territory in Abuja on Tuesday.

The Presidential media team, led by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Idris Mohammed, described NASENI as a beacon of hope and the industrial future of Nigeria, while applauding Halilu’s enormous efforts in driving the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu.

The purpose of the tour was to provide members of the Presidential Media team with exposure to the Agency’s transformation into one of the Federal Government’s industrialisation institutions under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu, who serves as chairman of the agency.

With the theme “NASENI’s Transformation under the Renewed Hope Agenda, showcasing homegrown Engineering, Local Manufacturing and industrial self-reliance,” the Presidential team visited seven facilities that demonstrated NASENI’s commitment to the country’s industrialisation drive through high–tech investments.

Some of the facilities visited include: NASENI-Troment Medical Diagnostics Facility, Battery and Inverter Factory, Abuja Industrial Park (AIP), NASENI Centre of Excellence, NASENI Showroom, among others.

Speaking to reporters after the tour, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, expressed delight that NASENI’s products have enormous market value because of the quality.

He said, “we have seen the innovation he has brought into NASENI, the products we are waiting to see in to the market, we have seen all of them I can only wish him more successes in this job”

Also Speaking Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs, Sunday Dare described the tour as a massive eye opener, stressing that NASENI under the EVC has introduced Nigeria to a world of possibilities .

“The EVC speaks to the innovative minds of the young generation. He has turned ideas into actualities across virtually all sectors; we have seen the power stove, gas agriculture, computers in almost nine sectors where technology is taking shape.

“So, NASENI is on the right path, and I think that it needs to be supported more. There is a need to have a government policy that mandates Ministries and agencies to first seek for what they need through NASENI before they import.”

Another media aide to the president, Tunde Rahman said the partnership that NASENI has entered into for its productive capacity has been wonderful as it embodies expertise across board, which will ultimately lead to the manufacturing of more made in Nigeria goods that will command competitive value in the global market.

Responding, the EVC, Halilu, said that with the facilities, NASENI is undertaking technology transfer, domestication, and commercialisation, which take into account after-sales services, affordability, and parts. “This is a game changer and we will continue to put Nigeria forward,” he said. He added that the agency has embarked on a massive job-creation initiative through local assembly and production.

The media tour attracted prominent media professionals in Nigeria, as well as partners and other federal government officials.
