Beyond Boundaries, a non-profit organisation, has hosted the groundbreaking Young Women in Leadership Conference 2025 at the State Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, in partnership with the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Citizenship and Leadership.
Speaking at the event held recently, the founder of Beyond Boundaries, Olu Olufemi-White, emphasised the event’s significance. “Hosting young women at the heart of national leadership symbolises the future Nigeria must embrace, one where women are not only seen but equipped to lead in governance, business, technology, and the creative industries.”
According to Olufemi-White, the event focuses solely on young women aged 21 to 35. It was attended by dignitaries, including the Minister of Art, Culture and Creative Economy, Hon. Hannatu Musa Musawa, Hon. Minister Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, corporate leaders like Owen Omogiafo, Ibukun Oyedeji, and music icon Teniola Apata. The event was a landmark gathering of influence and inspiration.
Participants were awarded scholarships for digital literacy programs, a critical investment in equipping young women with the technical skills needed to lead and thrive in the modern economy. Solar panels were distributed through a raffle draw, providing vital access to renewable energy to empower personal growth and business activities, particularly for women from underserved communities.
One of the scholarship recipients, Taibat Okunu, shared her experience, “Winning a digital literacy scholarship and a solar panel changed everything for me. I now have the tools to build my career and the confidence to lead. This conference gave me hope and a future I couldn’t have imagined.”
