Rivers Angels emerged champions of the 2024 Nigeria President Federation Cup following a 1-0 victory over Naija Ratels.

Both teams put up a spirited display in the final of the competition played at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos.

Rivers Angels were awarded a penalty late in the first half after Adebayo Jumai handled the ball inside the box.

Blessing Okpe smashed the ball beyond Naija Ratels goalkeeper Faith Omilani.

The former Nigeria Women Football League champions had other chances to make the scoreline more emphatic but were let down by their poor finishing.

They needed a big save from goalkeeper Agatha Thompson to prevent Naija Ratels from scoring a late equaliser.
