Senior special assistant to President Bola Tinubu on student engagement, Comrade Sunday Dayo Asefon, has expressed sadness over the tragic school building collapse in Jos, Plateau State, describing it as a profound tragedy.
Asefon, in a press statement on Saturday, prayed for the quick recovery of the injured ones, including those in critical condition.
He said, “I am deeply saddened to learn of the tragic loss of 22 people and 132 injured including students and Staff of Saints Academy, a secondary and primary school located at Busa-Buji community of Jos North local government area, in the yesterday school building collapse. Please accept my heartfelt condolences during this devastating time.
“The loss of these young lives is a profound tragedy that touches us all. My thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims, the injured, and the entire community as you navigate through this period of immense sorrow.
“May you find strength and solace in each other, and may the memories of those lost bring some measure of comfort.”
