Northern Youths Merger Group of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has endorsed President Ahmed Bola Tinubu for a second term in office.
It said the endorsement was in recognition of his performance and execution of developmental projects in northern states since he assumed office.
In a press release signed by the group’s national coordinator, Hon. Musa Mujahid Zaitawa, cited Tinubu’s projects in the North as the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano Expressway, Sokoto-Badagry Super Highway, the Kano-Maiduguri Dual Carriageway and the reconstruction of the Dikwa-Gamboru-Ngala Road in Borno State.
In the rail sector, Zaitawa said ongoing projects include the Kaduna-Kano and Kano-Maradi Rail Line linking the Niger Republic and allocation for the Kaduna Light Rail System.
According to him, the agriculture sector has seen federal investment through initiatives such as the $158.15 million Agriculture Value Chain project for nine northern states, the Kolmani Integrated Development Project and the World Bank-funded ACReSAL programme.
Zaitawa said Tinubu had also fared well in the health sector with the expansions of facilities at the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, Zaria, and Federal Medical Centre, Nguru.
Other projects mentioned include the Ajaokuta, Kaduna, Kano (AKK) Gas Pipeline, Gwagwalada Power Plant, and the proposed ABIBA Solar Power Station in Kaduna. The Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) policy aims to reduce fuel demand. Educational funds and soft loans for students have also been introduced.
The group challenged former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, questioning their contributions to Nigeria’s development.
Zaitawa called on northern youths to support Tinubu’s continuity in office beyond 2027.
