A pro-President Bola Ahmed Tinubu support group, Twenty Million Thumbs for Tinubu, has intensified grassroots mobilisation efforts across the South-South geopolitical zone as part of preparations for the 2027 general elections.
The renewed mobilisation drive was unveiled during a stakeholders’ meeting in Delta State, bringing together political leaders, community stakeholders, women’s groups, and youth representatives from the six states of the region.
Speaking at the meeting, the South-South Coordinator of the group and APC chieftain, Jimmy Omo-Agege, said the organisation was committed to building a strong grassroots network that would galvanise support for President Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the next election cycle.
According to him, extensive consultations have already been held with key stakeholders across the region, including women and youths, who constitute a significant percentage of the voting population.
“We have put all our machinery in place. We have engaged our women and youths, and they have assured us of their readiness to support Mr President. Our focus is to deepen mobilisation efforts across the South-South and ensure that the region contributes significantly to President Tinubu’s re-election in 2027,” he said.
Omo-Agege noted that the group’s activities are aimed at strengthening support for the Renewed Hope Agenda and promoting greater awareness of the administration’s policies, programmes and achievements.
Also speaking, Convener of the Twenty Million Thumbs for Tinubu initiative, Prince Emmanuel Odigie, said the stakeholders’ meeting was convened to align political leaders and grassroots mobilisers behind a common objective of delivering strong electoral support for the President.
He explained that the gathering provided an opportunity to develop a coordinated strategy for voter engagement, political sensitisation and grassroots advocacy across the South-South region.
According to Odigie, the support group is focused on building a broad coalition of stakeholders capable of sustaining mobilisation efforts at the ward, local government and state levels ahead of the 2027 elections.
“The goal is to ensure that support for President Tinubu is not limited to endorsements but is backed by an organised structure that reaches communities across the region,” he said.
Participants at the meeting reaffirmed their commitment to promoting the administration’s programmes and strengthening the APC’s presence at the grassroots, describing the mobilisation campaign as a strategic step towards consolidating support for the President’s second-term bid.
The meeting ended with a pledge by stakeholders to intensify engagement with voters across the South-South while expanding the APC’s support base ahead of the 2027 general elections.
