A leading voice in the field of biochemistry and alternative wellness sciences, Professor Abiodun Humphrey Adebayo, has been inducted into the prestigious Nigerian Academy of Science (NAS) in recognition of his groundbreaking contributions to scientific research at the intersection of traditional medicine, phytochemistry, and integrative health.

Adebayo, who serves as Scientific Advisor to QNET, a global wellness and lifestyle company, and Director of Research, Innovation & Discovery at Covenant University, was honoured for his pioneering research that blends academic rigour with alternative wellness approaches to address some of Africa’s most pressing health challenges. His induction into NAS marks a significant milestone in the recognition of science-backed holistic wellness in Nigeria and across the continent.

The NAS is the country’s foremost independent scientific institution. It promotes the advancement of knowledge and its application to national development through a rigorous selection process that honours only the most distinguished scholars and researchers.

Adebayo’s work with QNET, particularly through the company’s Scientific Advisory Board, has been instrumental in validating the science behind its Amezcua wellness range, including innovations like the BioDisc 3, Chi Pendant 4, and BioLight 3. These products utilize structured water, infrared light, and electromagnetic forces to support natural healing, relieve stress, improve sleep, and enhance overall wellbeing.

Adebayo, in a press statement, said, “Innovative and evidence-based approaches to wellness are more crucial now than ever. My research has consistently explored the biochemical underpinnings of plant-based medicine and alternative health technologies. Through my work with QNET’s Scientific Advisory Board, particularly on the Amezcua product line, we are uncovering how subtle energy science can offer impactful solutions to everyday health challenges faced by millions in Africa.”

QNET’s regional manager for Sub-Saharan Africa, Mr. Biram Fall, said, “As a company driven by innovation, QNET is honoured to have Prof. Adebayo serve on our Scientific Advisory Board. His recent induction into the Nigerian Academy of Science validates the depth of his scientific integrity and contribution. At QNET, we remain committed to offering integrative wellness solutions that resonate with communities across Africa. Our continued research collaboration ensures that products like the Amezcua BioDisc 3 and Chi Pendant 4 meet the evolving health needs of individuals, especially those experiencing lifestyle-related discomforts that are too often overlooked.”

As chronic stress, pollution, and sedentary lifestyles contribute to rising non-communicable diseases across sub-Saharan Africa, alternative wellness approaches backed by research are gaining momentum. Prof. Adebayo’s focus on phytomedicine, biochemical toxicology, and subtle energy science offers a promising path to integrative healthcare—one that combines scientific credibility with traditional knowledge systems.

With over 80 peer-reviewed publications and international recognitions, including fellowships from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the African Academy of Sciences, Prof. Adebayo is a respected leader in scientific circles. His mentorship of emerging researchers and commitment to rigorous inquiry continue to shape the next generation of African scientists.
