Kaduna State Roads Agency (KADRA) says significant progress has been made on the ongoing construction of the access road to the Federal University of Applied Sciences, Kachia, with the project now entering an advanced stage.
In its project update, KADRA said the stone base phase of the road had been completed, paving the way for the application of MC1 (prime coat), a critical step that prepares the surface for asphalt laying.
“With stone base works now completed, the project has progressed to the application of MC1 on the access road to the Federal University of Applied Sciences, Kachia.
“This key project, executed by the Kaduna State government under the leadership of His Excellency, Senator Uba Sani, is a strategic intervention aimed the supporting a federal government–owned tertiary institution and improving connectivity within the area.
“The ongoing priming stage sets the tone for the imminent commencement of asphalt laying, bringing the project closer to completion and ensuring a smooth, durable road that will significantly benefit the university community and adjoining areas,” KADRA said.
The statement explained that once completed, the road will provide a durable and motorable route, significantly improving transportation for students, staff and residents, while also boosting local commerce and development.
Governor Sani had, in July 2025, promised to provide essential infrastructure, including access roads, to ensure a smooth take-off for the institution.
Observers noted that the project reflected Governor Sani’s commitment to infrastructure development and his administration’s broader agenda of strengthening education and rural connectivity.
“By facilitating easier access to the Federal University of Applied Sciences, the government is not only supporting academic activities but also positioning the institution as a hub for innovation and growth in Southern Kaduna.
“Residents and stakeholders have commended the pace and quality of the work, expressing optimism that the timely completion of the project will open up the area to greater opportunities,” they said.
