Former Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Seriake Dickson has urged youths in the Niger Delta to shun violence in the planned protests.

He said they can express their grievances without violence and destruction of property.

“A peaceful demonstration is possible. Violence and destruction of property is not necessary. Your voices will be heard without resort to violence,” Senator Dickson said.

Dickson who represents Bayelsa West at the Senate also asked Governors and leaders to engage youths across the country to assuage their anger and frustrations which he said were genuine.

“Governors and leaders across the country should engage the youth, listen to their anger and frustrations, and assuage them.

“We should listen to them, it is important that we do, so that when the issues are addressed, they would be with their inputs,” Senator Dickson said.
