Natives of Kabba Bunu in Kogi State on Friday protested over the worsening insecurity in the Western Senatorial District of the state.
The protest came a few days after the president of Bunu Development Association (BDA) Pastor Kolawole Johnson Folorunsho said over 70 people kidnapped from the community by armed bandits were still in captivity, several months after.
The protesters lamented that many of their people were being held hostage by bandits.
While calling on the government to immediately address the spate of insecurity in the area, they said many communities had been deserted.
The protesters stressed the need for government to urgently address the issue before it gets worse.
