Taraba State commissioner for Finance, Budget and Economic Planning, Dr Sarah Enoch Adi, has asked public and private sectors to intensify efforts, aimed at bridging the gaps in women’s advancement.

The commissioner commended women in Nigeria for their resilience, leadership and invaluable contributions to national development.

In a statement she issued to mark this year’s International Women’s Day, Dr. Adi acknowledged the vital role women play in shaping families, communities and professional sectors.

She described the women, as both the nurturing pillars of society and key drivers of innovation and economic growth of the country.

She stressed that, women’s voices are important, their aspirations legitimate and their participation essential to the nation’s overall progress.

“Women are key stakeholders in every sphere of development, and their contributions cannot be overemphasised,” she said.

Dr. Adi also reaffirmed the commitment of the Taraba State Government to creating opportunities that empower women to lead, excel and realise their full potential.

She urged society to continue to support initiatives that promote women’s access to education, leadership positions and economic opportunities.

Highlighting the theme of this year’s International Women’s Day, the commissioner noted that celebrating women’s achievements must go hand in hand with sustained advocacy for gender equality and social inclusion.
