The highly anticipated ceremony took place at the Civic Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos, gathering top advertising and marketing professionals from across the continent.

Obia, a rising force in Africa’s advertising landscape, was appointed Integrated Strategy Director for Central and West Africa at Publicis Groupe in 2023.

“I’m deeply honoured by this recognition,” Obia said. “This award reaffirms the power of African ideas and strategy to influence global narratives. I dedicate it to every young creative and strategist who dares to push boundaries and redefine what’s possible.”

Known for embedding brands in cultural narratives, Obia has shaped campaigns and experiences for high-profile brands such as Nestle, MTN, Prime Video, PepsiCo, Heineken, Spotify, Nivea, Visa, and CAF.

His approach blends storytelling, brand strategy, and digital innovation to create resonant, impact-driven work.

Beyond the boardroom, Emeka Obia is a respected educator and mentor. As a faculty member at the School of Media and Communication, Pan-Atlantic University, he trains aspiring professionals in advertising best practices.

His influence also extends internationally, mentoring students at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences and the African Leadership University in Mauritius.

Speaking on Obia’s award, a representative of The Industry newspaper said: “Emeka represents the new era of African advertising – bold, insightful, and deeply connected to culture. His body of work, leadership, and commitment to developing talent make him a worthy recipient of this honour.”

With this latest accolade, Obia not only cements his status as one of Africa’s most dynamic advertising leaders but also embodies a new generation of strategists—globally minded, locally rooted, and relentlessly forward-thinking.
