Many pupils escaped death on Thursday when a classroom building in Odokerere High School in Ikorodu area of Lagos collapsed during lesson hours.

It was gathered that no life was lost as many of the pupils were said to have escaped unhurt, while others sustained serious injuries.

The residents and teachers in the school owned by the Lagos State government confirmed that the building caved in during class hours, saying the school infrastructure had been dilapidated for a long time before it came down on the pupils.

A video of the incident, which has since gone viral on social media platform X, was shared by a user @omoelerinjare.
