As Muslims worldwide observe the Holy month of Ramadan, Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’a Wa ‘iqamatis Sunnah JIBWIS Nigeria, under the leadership of Sheikh Dr. Abdullahi Bala Lau, has urged the Muslim Ummah to express gratitude to Almighty Allah for the recent reduction in food prices.

JIBWIS Nigeria also called on governments, wealthy individuals and the general public to extend support to the underprivileged during this sacred period.

In a message to the nation, Sheikh Abdullahi Bala Lau emphasised that the reduction in food prices is a divine blessing that should not go unnoticed.

He reminded Muslims that showing appreciation to Allah can lead to even greater relief and economic stability.

“In Quran chapter 14 verse 7, Allah Almighty said: “If you are grateful, I will certainly give you more, but if you are ungrateful, surely my punishment is severe.

“The reduction in food prices is a mercy from Allah, and we must be thankful,” Sheikh Bala Lau stated.

“When we appreciate Allah’s blessings, He increases them. Let us use this moment to pray for more relief and prosperity for our nation. Beyond gratitude, JIBWIS also emphasised the importance of charity, urging Muslims to assist the needy. JIBWIS called on governments and affluent individuals to prioritise supporting the poor, particularly during Ramadan.

“Many people are struggling to afford basic necessities, and it is our duty as Muslims to help them, “ Sheikh Bala Lau said, “The Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, taught us that we are not true believers if our neighbours go hungry while we have food.”

JIBWIS scholars have been deployed to various locations across Nigeria, as well as to the United Kingdom, and Hamburg, Germany to deliver Ramadan Tafsir and reinforce these messages of gratitude and charity. Sheikh Abdullahi Bala Lau encouraged individuals and groups to distribute foods, sponsor iftar programme and provide financial assistance to those in need.

As the holy month of Ramadan progresses, JIBWIS Nigeria called for a collective efforts to ensure that no one is left hungry or in distress. With this year’s Ramadan message, JIBWIS Nigeria hopes to inspire greater generosity, strengthen faith, and foster a spirit of unity among the Muslim Ummah.
