The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has donated three dialysis machines to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Asaba, Delta State.

The donation demonstrates the church’s commitment to humanitarian service, compassion and support for the healthcare needs of Nigerians.

According to the church, the new dialysis machines are expected to strengthen the centre’s ability to provide essential dialysis services to patients living with kidney-related conditions and reduce the challenges associated with access to renal care.

Receiving the machines, the chairman, Board of Management, FMC, Asaba, Hon. Mary Alile Idele, described the gesture as commendable and said FMC received a significant boost to its capacity to provide life-saving renal care.

Alile described the donation as a practical expression of love for humanity and a worthy contribution to the improvement of healthcare delivery, noting that the impact of the gesture will extend far beyond the immediate beneficiaries to numerous patients and families who depend on the centre for quality medical care.

According to her, the provision of dialysis machines is particularly important because dialysis is an essential and often life-sustaining treatment for patients whose kidneys are unable to adequately perform their functions.

She emphasized that increasing the availability of functional dialysis equipment will help improve access to treatment, enhance patient care, and strengthen the capacity of the FMC, Asaba, to respond effectively to the needs of its patients.

“This is not merely a donation of equipment; it is a donation that will translate into hope, relief, and potentially saved lives. We applaud the leadership of the RCCG for the thoughtful, timely, and generous intervention.”

Alile further commended the RCCG for consistently demonstrating that the Church has an important role to play in supporting government efforts to improve the welfare and wellbeing of citizens.

She noted that healthcare development requires collective responsibility, stressing that meaningful partnerships between government institutions, faith-based organisations, corporate bodies, philanthropists, development partners, and other stakeholders remain vital to achieving sustainable improvements in the Nigerian healthcare system.

The chairman also assured the leadership and members of the RCCG that the donated machines would be put to optimal and responsible use for the benefit of patients who require dialysis treatment.

She expressed particular appreciation to the leadership of the Church for identifying a critical healthcare need and responding with an intervention that directly touches human lives.

Alile called on other well-meaning individuals, organisations, religious institutions, corporate bodies, and philanthropists to emulate the RCCG by supporting healthcare institutions with equipment, infrastructure, medical supplies, and other interventions that can improve patient outcomes.

She reiterated the commitment of the Board of Management and the management of the FMC Asaba, to strengthening the Centre’s services and ensuring that patients receive quality, compassionate, and efficient healthcare.

“The Federal Medical Centre, Asaba, once again expresses its profound gratitude to the Redeemed Christian Church of God for this generous contribution and for its continued commitment to humanitarian service.

“The Centre looks forward to sustaining and strengthening this partnership in the collective pursuit of a healthier and better Nigeria. On behalf of the Board of Management, the management, medical personnel, staff, patients, and the entire Federal Medical Centre, Asaba community, I sincerely appreciate the leadership of the Redeemed Christian Church of God for this remarkable and generous donation,” she assured.
