The first lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and national chairman of the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), Senator Remi Tinubu, has donated seven hybrid 14-seater buses to the Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (YOWICAN), in fulfilment of a promise made earlier to support their activities.
During the presentation ceremony at the State House, Abuja, Senator Tinubu urged the youth to remain hardworking and steadfast in their faith, emphasising that uprightness and diligence are pathways to lasting success.
You can’t love without giving,” she noted, adding that the donation was not just a gesture of support but an expression of faith and responsibility.
“As you have chosen Christ, you should be good followers of Christ indeed — always embrace truth and do what is right and pleasing before God.”
The first lady in a statement by her media aide, Busola Kukoyi, said the donation, made on the second anniversary of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, was a way to give thanks for divine sustenance and leadership.
“We believe today God wants us to celebrate. On behalf of RHI, and due to our love for you as our children, because we believe you’ll all be achievers in this nation, we hand over these vehicles to you.”
Receiving the vehicles on behalf of the association, the national chairman of YOWICAN, Michael Enwere Belosochukwu, expressed deep appreciation to the first lady and the RHI. He noted that the buses would ease the burden of evangelism and logistics nationwide.
“These buses you donated to our organisation would help to ameliorate the work and operations of our activities. On behalf of YOWICAN nationwide and the entire youth, we want to thank our mother for her generosity and kind heart,” he said.
Each of the seven buses is designated for the YOWICAN structures in the country’s six geopolitical zones and the national secretariat.
Also present at the event were the wife of the vice president and national vice chairman of RHI, Hajia Nana Shettima; the wife of the Imo State Governor and RHI national secretary, Barr. Chioma Uzodimma, the executive secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission, Bishop S.T.V. Adegbite, and other dignitaries.
