Renowned Nigerian Musician, Wizkid, Loses Mother

The mother of popular Nigerian singer, Ayodeji Balogun, a.k.a Wizkid, is dead

Reliable sources, closely affiliated with the Grammy Award-winning artiste and prolific songwriter have confirmed the death of of the Oju Elegba crooner’s mother, who was said to have passed away during the early hours of Friday, August 18, 2023.

Fans have taken to social media to condole with the singer over the loss.

The departed, Mrs. Balogun, stood as an unswerving pillar of strength in bolstering her son’s skyrocketing career, a familiar face radiating unwavering encouragement from the sidelines at numerous live shows and functions.

Wizkid, born Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, is yet to react publicly to the death of his mother.

Late Mrs Balogun’s conspicuous presence during Wizkid’s performances transcended the boundaries of a maternal bond, and an emblem of steadfast backing for her son’s melodic odyssey.
