Anambra State governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has urged the state indigenes residents in Lagos to repatriate their investments home.
Represented by his deputy, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim, at this year’s cultural festival celebration by indigenes of Anambra State residents in Lagos held at the National Stadium Surulere, Lagos, Soludo assured that the state was fast transforming into an industrial and commercial hub under his administration.
According to the media aide to the deputy governor, Chioma Nwamah-Ahamefula, in a statement she made available to newsmen in Awka yesterday, the display of various rich cultural heritage by people from 177 communities of Anambra State residents in Lagos was part of the highlights of the event.
Also, traditional rulers and presidents-general from different communities, the breaking of cola nuts, the blessing of the people, the display of different cultural regalia, the entertainment of various native delicacies, and lectures highlighted the celebration.
Ibezim expressed Soludo’s happiness that the people still remember their roots, stressing that the programme was a call for oneness as a people and a reminder to the children that they have a home called Anambra.
He assured them of the Soludo government’s unrelenting efforts to transform Anambra into a secure environment, reminding them of the administration’s giant strides in education, road construction, employment, youth training on various skills, and the general provision of social amenities in the state.
