House of Representatives appealed to the federal government to direct Julius Berger to return to site and complete the reconstruction of the N155 billion Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano Expressway.

To this end, the House called on the executive arm of government to provide adequate security for the construction workers handling the project to enable continuation of the job without risk to personnel and equipment.

The House, however, urged the minister of works and housing to direct Julius Berger Plc to return to site and complete the project.

The resolutions were sequel to the adoption of a motion of urgent public importance moved by Hon Garba Datti (APC, Kaduna) where he lamented the untold hardship motorists have been subjected to plying the abandoned road which is under construction.

Datti in the motion noted that in March 2021, the minister of works and housing, Babatunde Fashola (SAN) announced that the Federal Executive Council had approved the contract for the rehabilitation of the Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano Expressway, amongst other approvals with a delivery date of December 2022.
