Revisiting The Past: A Situational Circumstance

“I still cannot believe you can be so reckless with your studies.” I remember Mr Coldwell scolding me after I explained why I had missed the test. Nasiru and Kabiru with Altine tagging along had driven me to his office the following day.

Of course they had waited outside for me, no one wanted to experience Mr Coldwell’s wrath. “Sir, I honestly didn’t mean to miss the test, I had worked so hard for it,” I said. He was silent, what could he say? I was his star student and he had prided himself with that knowledge that if anything else was wrong with the class of 26, I was the proof that he had excelled in his duties as a lecturer.

Nevertheless he was not letting me off that easily. “Maimuna, I really can’t help you. If I give you a make up test the others will feel bad, especially those who didn’t perform well in the test. They would want to rewrite too,” he said.
