Rivers United Confirm Eguma’s Dismissal, Appoint Ogenyi Interim Coach

Rivers United have confirmed the sacking of their head coach, Stanley Eguma, reports DAILY POST.
Eguma, who was the long-serving coach in the Nigeria Premier Football League, was sacked due to the club’s poor form.

In a related development, the Port Harcourt club also announced that Evan Ogenyi will take charge of the team in an interim capacity until the end of the season.

“The Management of Rivers United FC officially announces the termination of Coach Stanley Eguma’s appointment as Technical Manager of the Club,” reads a statement signed by the club’s media officer, Charles Mayuku.

“Subsequently, Coach Evans Ogenyi, the club’s Chief Coach, has been appointed in an acting capacity as the head coach of the Club until the end of 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier Football League Season.

“The decision is in pursuit of a new direction aimed at achieving the objectives and goals of the club.
