Rivers Utd Threatens Withdrawal From NPFL, Others

The management of Rivers United of Port Harcourt has threatened withdrawing from all football related activities.

In a letter, dated May 2,2024 and addressed to the General Secretary Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Rivers United, through its secretary,  Ahmed Abdurrahman, said the club sponsors, River State government is currently reviewing the club’s participation in all football related matters due to the unfair treatment against the club.

“The management of Rivers United Football Club, Port Harcourt is hereby notifying you that the sponsors of the team, the Rivers State Government is currently

reviewing the club’s participation in all football related activities due to unfair actions always taken against the team despite its huge investment and contribution to the  development of the game in Nigeria.

“Rivers United FC is by this letter withdrawing the earlier sent letter dated May 1, 2024 on the match timing for the 2024 Federation Cup, with the subject “Re-Rescheduled Federation Cup Match Round 64” without prejudice, Abdurrahman said in the letter also copied the Chief Operating Officer, Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
