Rotarian Emeka Iloegbunam has promised that Rotary Club of Abuja municipal will contribute immensely towards the eradication of open defecation and support the drive to ensure better girl child education in Abuja municipal.

He made the promise in Abuja during his investiture into the office as president of Rotary Club of Abuja Municipal.

Iloegbunam said his leadership will also work to empowering the girl-chilI through skills acquisition and health care that will help them achieve better livelihoods.
He said, “We want to make sure that those mothers who go into labour rooms and find it difficult to come alive or their children because of lack of medical attention, we will attend to it under maternal and child health care.
“We think the life of everyone who live in Abuja is the same but they are people who live in villages, they need support and when you take a trip there, you see people who are cramps up, no toilet, no water to drink and no food to eat. We will contribute immensely towards the eradication of open defecation in our communities that will help us to control diseases and save the environment.”

“Another area is on the girl child. We know that the girl child is exposed and they don’t have quality education and they don’t have what it takes to take care of their special hygiene, they need special attention.
