Ahead of the January 16, 2027 general election, Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN), has declared that President Bola Tinubu deserves a second term in office to consolidate on his achievements.

The president of RTEAN, Dr Musa Muhammadu-Maitakobi, stated this while addressing journalists during a working visit to the All Progressives Congress (APC) national secretariat in Abuja on Thursday.

Maitakobi , who was accompanied by some officials of the association said the party was a home
of peace and hope for Nigerians, hence their visit to its secretariat.

Asked whether President Tinubu deserves a second term in office going by his achievements, the RETAN boss answered in the affirmative.

He said the present oil price hike was not a Nigerian problem but a global challenge, adding that members of the association were doing their best to curtail the effects increase on Nigerians.

“This is not a problem of Nigeria, it is a world problem, and you and I, we can only go for prayer. The God Almighty, Allah, should stop what is happening to bring the price down.

“Let me tell you, don’t expect that somebody went out as a businessman, he bought something as 10 Naira, you expect him to come and sell it 9 Naira. Automatically, demand is steep, because he cannot subsidise what he did not buy in that range.

“But what we used to do, based on your question, we used to bring down the price. For us to gain 10 Naira, we only gain 5 Naira so that we can assist ourselves.

“My call to Nigerians is that we should have fear of God, so that we can to do something that we can defend before the God Almighty, Allah. If you have something in a cheap price, you too should sell it in a cheap price.

“If you get it even in high price, try to minimise the price to come down, so that you don’t expect to get much. So you should bring it down,” Maitakobi added.

The RTEAN president while speaking on other impact of the association on the country, said, “If you can see, the system of thuggery is already eradicated.

“Oligarchism is already eradicated. The issue of one chance is already eradicated. And this is what we put forward. Inshallah, we will achieve our aim.”
