Nigerian actress and screenwriter, Ruth Kadiri, has revealed that she believed God showed her she had met her future husband on the very day they first met.

Speaking on a podcast with Ife Agoro, the actress shared details of their first meeting and the journey that eventually led to marriage.

Kadiri said she never felt pressured to get married while growing up. She also admitted that she was never obsessed with weddings or marriage.

According to her, marriage was not something she spent much time thinking about. She added that she had always been confident in her own worth.

She said:

“I’ve never really been the girl who sits down and thinks about marriage. It wasn’t a thing for me. I didn’t even know whether I was going to marry. I knew I was a catch, and anyone who was going to marry me was going to be lucky.”

According to Ruth Kadiri, she met her husband at work when he approached her and tried to strike up a conversation.

She said she was not interested at first. However, she later gave him a chance, and they began discussing business, importation and Vietnam.

The actress revealed that as she was about to leave, she felt God told her the man would become her husband. Despite that feeling, she blocked his number two days later.IMG 2564 1

Kadiri added that she was in another relationship at the time. She eventually agreed to go on a date with him. She also said sharing parts of her relationship publicly has helped her stay committed to the marriage journey.

“As I was about to walk away, the Spirit of God told me he’s my husband. Two days later, I blocked him, but he went the extra mile to find me. Four months later, he proposed to me, and I accepted,” she added.
