SAF-AGA has forged a strategic partnership with the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) to transform solar energy access across Nigeria.

This collaboration aims to harness solar technology to provide reliable and sustainable energy solutions to underserved communities, enhancing economic growth and improving quality of life.

SAF-AGA Renewable Energy Limited, led by Managing Director Godbless Safugha, recently visited REA’s Corporate Headquarters in Abuja.

Safugha noted that the visit aimed to congratulate the newly appointed management of REA and explore potential collaborations to advance energy access in Nigeria through innovative solar solutions.

SAF-AGA is at the forefront of solar energy development, focusing on Mini Grids. The company has completed several Mini-Grid projects across Nigeria and has 50 additional sites in the pipeline. These projects serve communities, educational institutions, and support productive energy use.

“Our Mini Grids are equipped with the latest technologies, offering scalability and adaptability to meet evolving energy demands,” said Safugha.

He also introduced REA to SAF-AGA’s groundbreaking innovations, including Advanced Energy Management Systems, PV Coating Solutions with self-cleaning capabilities, and Graphene Battery Technology, known for faster charging times and longer lifespan.

REA’s Managing Director, represented by Executive Director of Technical Services Umar Abdullahi Umar, welcomed the SAF-AGA delegation.

He commended the company’s significant contributions to expanding energy access in Nigeria and emphasized the importance of partnering with experienced stakeholders like SAF-AGA.

“Such collaborations are vital to achieving universal access to sustainable electricity in Nigeria,” Umar noted, highlighting REA’s commitment to innovative solutions.

The meeting also explored formalizing this partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), outlining specific areas of collaboration between SAF-AGA and REA.

This partnership is expected to accelerate efforts to electrify underserved communities, leveraging SAF-AGA’s expertise in solar energy and REA’s rural electrification mandate.
