Liverpool’s star player, Mohamed Salah, has declared his teammate, Dominik Szoboszlai, to be the best player in the world.
He believes their chances of winning trophies this season will depend on the Hungarian’s performance.
After beating Brighton & Hove Albion in the FA Cup, Salah spoke to the media, stating the win was significant for Liverpool. He also mentioned that the 3-0 result boosted the team’s confidence. He praised Szoboszlai’s performance and said (via TFF):
“It’s a very important win for us. It makes us feel more confident about the next matches. I believe the success of a cup run is based on how well Szoboszlai plays.
“We rely on him so much. This season, he is one of the best players in the world. It is great to win trophies. Hopefully, we can keep going.”
Discussing his own game, Salah stated he did not want to be compared to Steven Gerrard, aiming instead to create his own legacy.
“I just want to keep playing and try to score as many goals as possible. I’m not playing a Steven Gerrard season. Even though he was a big name at the club, I’m trying to write my own story. I put in my best effort in every game. We hope we can keep going until the very end.”
On Saturday, February 14, the Reds beat Brighton & Hove Albion 3-0 at Anfield, with goals from Curtis Jones, Szoboszlai, and Salah.
