Governor Abba Yusuf has approved a N20,000 Eid-el-Kabir bonus for civil servants in Kano State and the 44 local government areas.

The approval was contained in a statement issued by the Press Secretary to the Secretary to the State Government, Musa Muhammad.

According to the statement, the gesture is aimed at cushioning the economic hardship faced by workers ahead of the Sallah celebration.

The package will benefit civil servants on Grade Levels 01 to 14 in state ministries, departments and agencies, as well as workers in local government councils across the state.

The government said the intervention came shortly after the payment of May salaries and reflected the administration’s commitment to workers’ welfare.

“The Governor considered it necessary to provide additional relief to enable workers celebrate Eid-el-Kabir with joy, comfort and renewed hope alongside their families,” the statement said.

The government added that the initiative formed part of its people-oriented policies aimed at improving workers’ wellbeing and boosting productivity in the public service.
