The Lagos State government has revealed that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has built and renovated 4,000 new public classrooms in primary and secondary schools since taking office in 2019.

The chairman of the Special Committee on Rehabilitation of Public Schools, SCRPS, Hakeem Smith, disclosed this at a media briefing on achievements of the committee under the Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu-led administration, held at Alausa, Ikeja.

They said Governor Sanwo-Olu will today flag off the official commissioning of 16 blocks of classrooms in some public schools across the state’s six education districts, such as Keme Balogun School in Ibeshe Ikorodu, with a drive-through and commissioning of Ajegunle Junior in Kosovo.

It should be noted that SCRPS was re-inaugurated on November 4, 2019, by Governor Sanwo-Olu to address the decaying infrastructure in Lagos public schools.

In his address at the press conference, Smith said, “Since the inauguration, SCRPS has been able to rehabilitate 386 blocks of classrooms in both primary and secondary schools in Lagos state. This rehabilitation work is spread across the six education districts in the state.
