Schneider Electric has announced the immediate availability of the GoPact MCCB (Moulded Case Circuit Breaker) and the GoPact MTS (Manual Transfer Switch) to the West African region.
The GoPact MCCB and GoPact MTS form part of Schneider Electric’s entry-level market offering, which comprises cost-effective electrical products that offer robustness and simplicity without compromising on the company’s quality assurance.
The products suited to a variety of simple and non-critical applications such as low- to medium-density commercial buildings, cluster housing complexes, retail stores, mini-sub applications, and other non-critical industry applications.
“GoPact is crucial to the West African market because of the value it brings to our distribution channel and their customers. It is an affordable offering, which helps us compete with low-cost brands from India and China which have entered the marketplace quite aggressively,” said Opeyemi Olaniyan, Offer Manager, Power Products at Schneider Electric West Africa.
“While our premium products mainly focus on large projects and critical buildings, Schneider Electric’s GoPact products can be used for loose component fittings in less critical applications. It fits well in non-type tested enclosures, making it easier to sell in markets with more affordable panels,” he explained.
“Another important value proposition of the GoPact MCCB for example is the adjustable trip unit, which allows for flexibility in application. It can handle various electrical faults, such as short circuits and overloads, while offering basic selectivity, with the second breaking mechanism reducing fault current twice to enhance its suitability for minimal selectivity. Additionally, the GoPact MCCB comes in 3P3D and 4P4D, with all the phases protected,” explained Olaniyan.
Also, Schneider Electric has unveiled a new range of innovative products designed for industrial, commercial and residential use, headlined by its all-in-one panel board, DBSeT, at an event held at Radisson Blu, Lagos.
The DBSeT panel board is set to redefine electrical safety standards by combining connectivity, flexibility, and premium design. Engineered for residential, commercial, industrial, and critical infrastructure, it provides end-users with greater control and efficiency in managing critical loads through intelligent integration of components such as Power Tags, concentrators, and contactors – transforming the panel into a connected digital powerhouse.
Alongside the DBSeT, Schneider Electric unveiled other solutions including the Altivar Soft Starter Range, ATV6100, Easy9 EU, Digital Switchboard, Tesys Deca Advanced LC1D115A-150A, RM Air Set (SF6-Free), Medium Voltage Switchgear (SF6-Free), EVlink, PrismaSeT, Masterpact MTV, KNX Solution, and the AVN430 & 490.
Speaking on the launch, Country President, Schneider Electric West Africa, Ajibola Akindele, said, “At Schneider Electric, we are committed to delivering reliable and innovative solutions that drive efficiency and safety in energy management. DBSeT is the ultimate solution for modern electrical safety requirements adaptable across industries while ensuring maximum functionality and customer-specific compatibility.”
Product Manager, Grace Olorunsola, said, “DBSeT ensures comprehensive electrical safety with improved connectivity, versatility, and premium design. Beyond guaranteeing uninterrupted performance and reduced downtime, it adapts to various incoming connections within a single enclosure. Its Green Premium certification and eco-friendly packaging also reinforce our commitment to sustainability.”
Offer Manager, Digital Building Anglophone Africa, Mark Freeman, said linked the launch to the future of buildings in Nigeria, “With a 28 million building deficit in the country, DBSeT ensures that new and existing infrastructure can be sustainable, resilient, hyper-efficient, and digitally connected paving the way for people-centric and environmentally responsible buildings.”
“The panel board delivers potential savings of up to 50% on maintenance costs. Its connection to EcoStruxure simplifies compliance with building energy codes, reduces installation efforts, and makes complex conversions seamless, ultimately lowering both cost and downtime,” he said.
Through this launch, Schneider Electric continues to drive digital transformation by integrating process automation with energy management technologies.
The event brought together other Schneider Electric executives and partners including CEO, Bolamark Engineering Limited, Alhaji Fatai Bola Azeez; Marketing Manager, West Africa, Omobolanle Omotayo; and Product Manager, Schneider Electric, Grace Olorunsola.
