A political economy analyst and legislative expert, Dr. Uche Igwe, has commended the traditional ruler of Ihitteaforukwu Kingdom in Ahiazu Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State, His Royal Majesty Dr. Okwudiri Divine Nwandu (Akaraka III), for his commitment to peace and security in the state.

Dr. Igwe made the remarks on his return from his annual vacation, noting that the monarch has demonstrated wisdom and restraint in handling issues affecting the Ihitteaforukwu community.

According to him, recent developments within the kingdom have tested the leadership and judgment of the traditional ruler, but the monarch has consistently maintained a peaceful, inclusive and public-spirited approach.

“I have followed developments in Ihitteaforukwu closely, and I can confidently say that His Royal Majesty, Dr. Okwudiri Divine Nwandu, is a leader of wisdom and compassion. I urge all stakeholders to shun divisive tendencies, avoid unnecessary name-calling and rally round the traditional institution,” Igwe said.

He appealed to members of the Umuonyeka community to embrace dialogue and resolve any outstanding issues amicably, stressing that unity remains key to development.

“Division breeds underdevelopment. Since ascending the throne, His Royal Majesty has worked tirelessly to unite the people and has often deployed personal resources in the interest of peace. The best support we can give him is to stand together and move the community forward,” he added.

Dr. Igwe also addressed youths who welcomed him on his return, assuring them of meaningful and quality representation in public office when the time comes, rather than what he described as proxy politics.
