School Sports Festival Holds February 22 In 8 Zones

The preliminary phase of the 2024 FCT School Sports Festival will hold from Thursday, February 22nd uary to Saturday, March 2nd in eight zones across the FCT.
This was revealed in a press statement signed by the media coordinator of the festival, Ohanusi Ernest Chinedum and sent to media houses yesterday.

According to the statement, the preliminary phase will hold Abaji, Kwali, Tungan-maje, Gwagwalada, Kuje,Tudun Wada, Karshi and Dutse.

The statement added that the ground finalé, which will feature zonal Champions of the various sporting events, will run Monday, March 11 to Thursday, March 14, 2024.
The FCT minister of state, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud Bankure will flag off the finalé, while the Senior minister, Barrister Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, will grace the closing ceremony.

To this effect, the organizing committee has written to the Federal Ministry of Sports Development, seeking their approval for the use of the Main Bowl of the MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, and its adjoining facilities.

The festival, which is an initiative of the FCT Secondary Schools Education Board chairman, Dr. Ladan Mohammed, in collaboration with the directorate of FCT Secondary Schools Sports Unit, with the approval of the FCT Minister, is geared toward rebirthing sports development in FCT.
