Speaking during a plenary panel session themed ‘Breaking Barriers: The Poverty Exit Strategy’, the CEO and co-founder of SeamlessHR, Dr. Emmanuel Okeleji, joined Emir of Kano, HRH Muhammadu Sanusi II; interim deputy director, Economic Opportunity, Gates Foundation, Abi Jagun; and executive director, Policy Innovation Centre, Osasuyi Dirisu to discuss practical solutions for accelerating poverty reduction and driving inclusive economic progress.

Okeleji highlighted the critical link between workforce empowerment, technology adoption, and sustainable poverty reduction.

“Every month, the data we process reveals the realities of hardship Nigerians face every day. Technology offers us an avenue to change that reality, because with the right digital infrastructure, we can connect even the lowest-income workers to credit, healthcare, and pension systems, giving them access to the financial stability and social safety nets they deserve. Building this foundation is essential to realising a Nigeria where growth is inclusive and productivity drives prosperity,” he stated.

He further noted that leveraging technology to expand access to essential services can help working families build stability, security, and better livelihoods, particularly across the informal and low-income workforce segments.

The session also underscored the importance of data-driven policymaking and financial inclusion in ensuring targeted impact where it is needed most.
