A security expert, Seyi Babaeko, says the appointment of Gen. Christopher Gwabin Musa as minister of defence by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has demonstrated the level of foresight and seriousness required to address the country’s security challenges.
He said the choice of the former chief of defence staff (CDS) for the onerous task reflected the belief that Nigeria’s challenges cannot be addressed with trial and error but with competence and character.
He also applauded the Senate for the prompt confirmation of Musa’s nomination by the President, noting that it allowed the country to move forward with “renewed confidence”.
Babaeko, the managing director/chief executive officer of Absolute Security and Advance Protocol Ltd, in a press statement he issued yesterday, added that Musa’s appointment represented more than a change in leadership.
He said it was a call to action for a country in search of peace.
He said, “The appointment of Christopher Gwabin Musa as minister of defence feels like more than a routine change of personnel. It carries the weight of renewed hope and signals a clear intention to restore stability and rebuild trust in the institutions meant to keep citizens safe.
“Many Nigerians see this move as a thoughtful step in the right direction, and it is fitting to congratulate him while also acknowledging President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for choosing competence over convenience,” Babaeko said
