Joint security operatives under Operation MESA have rescued three of the five people abducted during a late night bandit attack in Gwarzo local government area of Kano State.
The operation involved troops of the 3 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, working alongside the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) and the Nigerian Police.
LEADERSHIP reports that the victims were kidnapped on Sunday night when armed men suspected to be bandits attacked Lakwaya village in Gwarzo LGA.
Speaking on the development, the Assistant Director of Army Public Relations, 3 Brigade, Captain Babatunde Zubairu, confirmed the rescue, stating that three of the abducted persons had been safely recovered, while efforts were ongoing to free the remaining two.
Captain Zubairu reassured the public that troops involved in the operation were committed to ensuring the safe return of all abducted persons.
