Segilola Resources Operating Limited (SROL) has successfully concluded the fifth edition of its annual football tournament in Osun State, bringing together host communities in a vibrant celebration of grassroots sports, unity, and youth development.

The competition, a key component of SROL’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, brought together male and female teams competing in a three-day tournament that commenced on Thursday, 26th March. The event culminated in thrilling finals and a community-centred closing ceremony held at the Iperindo Community Field on Saturday, 28th March.

This year’s tournament saw teams compete for a total prize of ₦2,600,000. The winning male and female teams each received ₦500,000, while the second-place teams took home ₦400,000 each, and the third-place teams received ₦250,000 each.

In addition to team prizes, individual excellence was celebrated through several award categories. The HSE Awards, aimed at promoting safety and discipline on and off the field, were presented to outstanding players in both categories, each receiving ₦50,000. The highest goal scorers and Best Coach/Manager in both male and female categories were also recognised with ₦50,000 each.

Each team was comprised of SROL staff and members of the host communities. The male category featured four teams: Adrian FC, Sola FC, Segun FC, and Collins FC, while the female category comprised Aderinokun FC, Chris FC, Alf FC, and Adeoye FC.

SROL CEO, Mr. Segun Lawson, officially kicked off the tournament with a lively display of ball skills and a ceremonial kick that set the tone for the event. He noted that the tournament is one of the many ways SROL continues to strengthen its relationships with the host communities and foster meaningful integration.
