During his visit, Senator Katung expressed his concern about the poor state of the road leading to the community and the absence of a bridge.

He appealed to governments at all levels to address the people’s plight by constructing a bridge for the community.

The senator prayed for comfort for the immediate family, Chawai Chiefdom, and the entire people of Kauru local government area. He hoped that the loss of these young lives would catalyse positive change and development in the community.

Katung pledged to work with the state and federal governments to bring social amenities to communities needing assistance. He emphasized the importance of collaboration and the provision of necessary infrastructure to improve people’s lives.

The village head of Ribang, Mr Garba Madaki, expressed gratitude to Senator Katung and his entourage for the visit. He highlighted the community’s lack of access to roads and healthcare facilities, making it difficult for them to transport their farm produce to markets.
