Senator representing Niger East senatorial district of Niger State, Senator Mohammed Sani Musa has distributed empowerment starter packs for 218 unemployed youths even as Niger state deputy governor, Ahmed Mohammed Ketso reiterated government’s commitment to empower the youths and women.
The deputy governor who was the special guest at the graduation and presentation of the starter packs distribution to the trained beneficiaries from across the nine local governments of Niger East, described the initiative of Senator Musa as worthy of emulation.
He reiterated the commitment of the present administration to women and youths empowerment, hence, the government is paying the needed priority for life long economic independence of that class of the population of the state.
Ketso said it will go a long way in ensuring economic reinvigoration of Niger state and enhance socio economic status of the beneficiaries to be self-employed, urging them to use the materials judiciously.
Also, the special adviser on political matters and strategy to the governor, Alhaji Mohammed Kolo said that it was a deliberate plan by the lawmaker to ensure youths from his constituency are empowered to be self employed.
Kolo noted that it was part of the intervention of keeping the active youth of the street and lauded the senator’s kind gestures by touching all segments of development in each of the wards in the zone .
The training programme was in collaboration with the Minna Institute of Technology and Innovation on various skills acquisition to include: computer, solar Installation, electrical, AC and refrigerator repairs, POP, Vulcanising and Plumbing among other trades.
