The All Progressives Congress (APC) has disqualified 47 senatorial aspirants from participating in the primary election scheduled for today, Monday, May 18, 2026.

This was contained in a list of senatorial aspirants not cleared, released in a statement issued by the APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, on Monday.

“The All Progressives Congress (APC) hereby releases the list of senatorial aspirants not cleared to participate in the party’s Senate Primary Elections.

“The screening exercise was conducted by the party’s screening committees in accordance with established procedures and guidelines,” the statement read.

The statement, however, did not provide reasons for the disqualification of the aspirants.

Among those disqualified are serving and former lawmakers, including Sen. Daniel Effiong Asuquo (Cross River South), Sen. Benson Agadaga (Bayelsa East), Sen. Garba Musa Mai Doki (Kebbi South), and Sen. Ben Murray-Bruce (Bayelsa East).
