Senator Mao Ohuabunwa has disassociated himself from a communique issued by Abia North Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stakeholders, according to his media office.
The stakeholders issued the communique after the senator for the district from 2015 to 2019 hosted them to a meeting at his Atani Arochukwu country home, Arochukwu local government area.
The office stated this in a statement entitled “Senator Mao Ohuabunwa disassociates himself from misrepresented communiqué on governance in Abia State.”
Sighted by LEADERSHIP in the state capital, Umuahia, the communiqué, said : “The attention of the media office has been drawn to the communiqué issued after the meeting.”
The statement pointed at item five of the communiqué which it said suggested that the jobs the governor, Alex Otti had executed are not in tandem with the financial inflows accruing to the state.
It noted that the former House of Representatives member for Arochukwu/Ohafia federal constituency does not share such view nor was it deliberated at the meeting.
”The insinuation is not only misleading but also mischievous, and it attempts to sow discord where harmony, solidarity, and mutual respect should thrive.”
According to the statement such a line of thought is a gross misrepresentation of the deliberations that took place at the Saturday, August 30 meeting.
”We categorically, firmly, and unequivocally distance him from item five of the communiqué which cast aspersions on the achievements of the present administration in the state.”
It said as a statesman, party leader, and patriot, he believes that governance, regardless of partisan leanings, should be encouraged when it brings tangible dividends to the people.
”We, therefore, urge the general public, PDP faithful, and the good people of the district and the state to disregard the offensive and misleading insertion of the item five”.
