Senator Jiya Boosts Dry Season Farming With 100 Water Pumping Machines

The senator representing Niger South, Senator Peter Ndalikali Jiya has distributed 100 water pumping machines to farmers’ groups in his constituency.

The senator who was represented at the event by Hon Timothy Jiya said the programme was initiated with a view to providing farmers with the tools needed to succeed in agricultural production.

He, therefore, urged the beneficiaries to utilize the tools and see it as an initiative that is targeted at boosting their economic growth and the nation’s well-being.

In his remarks, chairman of the occasion, Hon. Ndako Kpaki charged the beneficiaries against the sale of the items, adding that the working tools are good for the growth of agribusiness and not for sale.

Speaking on behalf of the PDP chairmen in the zone, Alhaji Baaman Baddegi, he urged beneficiaries to use the opportunity to tackle some of the challenges faced by farmers during the dry season farming.

Also speaking, secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, Barrister Suleiman Zhigun urged the people of Niger South Senatorial District and Nigerlites as a whole to continue to have faith in PDP for the growth of the nation.

Other speakers who spoke at the occasion said the initiative by Senator Ndalikali was a good contribution to the country’s food security and economic plan, demonstrating a shining example in promotion of agricultural business in the country.

Some of the beneficiaries at the event commended the senator and called for more interventions to capture more beneficiaries for comprehensive growth in the agricultural sector.
