Senator Sunday Marshall Katung (Kaduna South) has offered deep sympathy and solidarity to the Emir of Jama’a, His Royal Highness Alhaji Muhammadu Isa Muhammadu II, after a devastating fire struck the Emir’s Palace in Kafanchan Friday evening.
Katung received news of the blaze at the historic site in Jema’a Local Government Area with profound shock and sorrow. He called the incident painful, given the palace’s immense cultural, historical, and emotional value to the Jama’a people and wider Southern Kaduna community. Four flats in the complex were destroyed, including the wing of the Emir’s revered mother, said special adviser on media and communications Midat Joseph.
The palace stands as a sacred symbol of heritage, unity, leadership, and collective identity. “Any damage to it is deeply felt by all,” Katung noted. He thanked Almighty Allah (SWT) for sparing lives, seeing it as divine protection for the Emir’s household and community.
“In such moments, true leadership shines,” Katung said. He praised the Emir’s wisdom, calmness, and guidance, confident the emirate will rebound stronger under his stewardship.
Katung also commended security personnel, local volunteers, and sympathisers for their swift response, which contained the fire and reflected the community’s respect and unity for the throne.
