The senator representing Bauchi Central, Abdul Ningi has distributed about 4,565 bags of assorted food palliative to reduce hardship on his constituents.
The lawmaker also hinted at plans to construct about 341 hand pump boreholes in communities across the six local government areas that make up the senatorial district.
Senior legislative aide to the senator, Ibrahim Zadawa disclosed this at the official presentation of the items to the distribution committee for onward delivery to the beneficiaries held in Bauchi.
According to him, the senator had also procured two trucks of fertiliser from the federal government in addition to 800 bags as intervention from the Hadejia-Jama’are River Basin Development Authority, making a total of 2,000 bags to support the electorates in their farming activities.
In his remarks, chairman of the distribution committee who is also the speaker Bauchi State House of Assembly, Abubakar Suleiman thanked the senator for the initiative and promised to ensure the items reached the target beneficiaries.
The committee set up to monitor the distribution exercise is made up of local government council chairmen, members of the state House of Assembly, local government party chairmen, and other stakeholders from the Bauchi central senatorial district.
