In line with this, he distributed 5,000 bags of fertiliser to the residents of Kaduna.

The distribution exercise was launched in Zonkwa, the headquarters of Zangon Kataf, a local government area in Kaduna State.

Senator Katung, who represents Kaduna South in the National Assembly, stated that his action fulfilled his promise to address the needs of his constituents.

Katung said, “I am grateful to God for enabling us to reach out to the less privileged.”

He also urged the distribution committee to ensure the fertiliser reaches the intended beneficiaries. Furthermore, he assured those who did not receive fertiliser this time that more would be made available to them in the future.

The chairman of the distribution committee, Mr. Yohanna Allahmagani, said beneficiaries included the elderly, widows, orphans, women, and other vulnerable individuals from the eight local government areas within the zone.

Allahmagani also stressed the importance of preventing the diversion of these items for purposes other than their intended use. “We will closely monitor the distribution process to prevent misappropriation,” he stated.

Various members of the community expressed their appreciation for Senator Katung’s efforts. Francis Sani, Chairman of Zangon Kataf, Dr Saleh Pashi, a PDP chieftain, and Ali Kalat, a member of the State Assembly representing Jema’a constituency, commended Senator Katung for extending a helping hand to the less privileged. They described his gesture as timely, considering the current economic challenges faced by the country. They also highlighted how Senator Katung’s activities in the zone have elevated the party’s status.

Recognising the significance of this humanitarian act, they called on other well-meaning individuals and organisations to follow Senator Katung’s example and assist vulnerable members of society.

Mary Joshua and Musa Auta, who benefited from the distribution, expressed their gratitude to Senator Katung for helping them through these difficult times.

Other speaking individuals also prayed for God’s blessings upon Senator Katung and his continued effective service to the people.
