Several United States military aircraft have crashed in Kuwait, the country’s Ministry of Defence confirmed, adding that all crew members survived the incident and were in stable condition after being evacuated and transferred to hospitals.
The announcement, reported by the Kuwait News Agency on social media, stated that authorities were assisting with rescue and response operations.
Officials did not immediately disclose the number of aircraft involved or the cause of the crashes, and investigations are ongoing.
Video circulating online, verified by Sky News, appeared to show one of the jets spiralling in freefall before impact.
The incident came a day after reports that Iran struck a US military facility in Kuwait in retaliation for joint airstrikes carried out by the United States and Israel on Iranian targets.
Other regional facilities said to have been affected by missile activity include bases in Qatar, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia, heightening concerns over escalating tensions.
Kuwaiti defence officials reiterated that there were no fatalities and that operations in the area remain ongoing while inquiries continue into the circumstances surrounding the crashes.
