The City Boy Movement has has initiated a bold step toward strengthening women’s participation in politics by approving the full structure of its Women Wing.
It was one of the outcomes of a strategic meeting held on March 4, 2026, at the Campaign Secretariat.
The meeting, attended by Barr. Seyi Tinubu, patron of the Movement and Francis Oluwatosin Shoga, director-general, brought together key stakeholders to discuss how women can become the backbone of grassroots political mobilisation across Nigeria.
City Boy Movement, explained that the leaders are the meeting acknowledged that women remain the true drivers of political change at the community level.
She said, “It was therefore resolved to establish a robust Women Wing structure that will operate at the national, state, and local government levels, ensuring that no woman is left behind in the Movement’s mission.
“The Office of the National Woman Leader will now be fully established to coordinate women-focused programmes and initiatives across the country. This will include strategic engagement with young women, female entrepreneurs, market women, religious leaders, and professional women who are ready to contribute meaningfully to national development,” Dr Umahi said
In a show of strong support for the initiative, Barr. Seyi Tinubu, she said, approved the handover of two 18-seater buses to the Women Wing. Umahi said the vehicles will support the Movement’s outreach efforts and help take the message of political participation to women across communities nationwide.
According to her, the national women leader, Ummusalma Rabiu, commended Barr. Seyi Tinubu for his vision and commitment to expanding opportunities for women in leadership and grassroots engagement.
Rabiu pledged that her office will build a women’s wing that is professional, organised, and ready to deliver impact, women’s needs, and the immense power of women in shaping political outcomes
The meeting was also attended by the City Boy Movement national coordinator, Hon. Favour Abayomi; the minister of Youth Development Ayodele Olawande Wisdom, deputy national woman leader, Sophie Uzodimma; director of Media and Communications, Office of the National Woman Leader City Boy Movement and other senior officials.
