The African Democratic Congress (ADC) National Vice Chairman North West, Jafaru Sani, has explained that Sheikh Ahmad Tijjani Umar, was not arrested but was invited by the Department of State Service (DSS) over an alleged plan to protest in favour of former governor Nasir El-Rufai during his arraignment.

Speaking with LEADERSHIP in Kaduna, Sani, a former commissioner under El-Rufai’s administration said Tijjani left DSS office and went home around 1:00 a.m on Tuesday.

According to ADC vice Chairman, “The DSS said he was planning a pro protest for former governor Nasir El-Rufai that likely to take place today during the court sitting. He was invited for discussion and they let him go around 1:00 a.m today”

“Because if there is protest for or against, you know the likelihood of a breakdown of law and order. So he was not arrested. He was invited for discussion and they discussed and allowed him go home by 1a.m today.” Sani stated.
