A certified counsellor and trauma-informed care specialist, Dr Adeline Shuri,has applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for signing the Anti-Doping Bill into law.
She said the landmark legislative feat marks a significant step towards promoting clean sports in Nigeria, adding that it will bring numerous benefits, including the promotion of fair play, the protection of athletes’ health, the prevention of the use of harmful doping substances, and the enhancement of Nigeria’s reputation on the global stage.
According to Shuri, the Anti-Doping law demonstrates Nigeria’s commitment to clean sports, thereby boosting its international standing, encouraging youth participation, promoting clean sporting practices, and inspiring young athletes to adopt a healthy lifestyle.
