American singer and rapper Megan Thee Stallion has released a four-part short series about her visit to Milan, Italy, for the 2026 Olympics, which wrapped yesterday.
Titled ‘Megan Takes Milan, Milan Cortina 2026’, the four to seven-minute episodes saw the singer learn and try out certain Olympic sports like figure skating and long track free skating, while also learning about hockey and tasting Italian cuisine.
In the first episode, Megan satisfies her curiosity about figure skaters, whom she describes as “graceful with knives on their feet”. She had a ballet instructor, Giuseppe Migliorisi of Spazio Opera, Milan Dance Academy, take her through the basics of ballet, the foundation of figure skating. Although she was in great shape, Megan was sweating by the time she had gone through the ropes.
“The hardest part of the class was figuring out that my feet and legs are not detachable or rotatable. That’s what I want to work on in the future. I have a whole new respect for ballet dancers.”
In episode two, the singer worked out with 2026 Olympic Gold winner, Sarah Warren, at the Ceresio 7 Gym and Spa Milano Fitness Centre. The long track free skater showed the singer what part of her body to work out, the technique, and the positions of the sport.
“She’s got the body. Her energy is amazing.” Meantime, Warren was matching Megan’s vigor the whole time.
By the third video, when Megan begins jousting through Italian restaurants, she and Olympic medalist, Madison Chock, are making Spaghetti A La Chittara and Torpelli (recipe from the mountains) specially curated by Pietro Pasta’s chef and founder, Pietro Visconti, with the singer’s song ‘Mamushi’ played briefly in the background.
In the final video, the singer shares the screen and a meal with Leila Edwards at the Ribot Bistrot. 22-year-old Edwards just made history as the first black woman to make the US Olympics team, and the first black woman to win an Olympic medal in hockey.
Megan and Leila’s connection shines through when sampling Ribot Bistrot’s chef Niccolo Friediani’s 100-year-old mother’s recipes; they complemented one another for their achievements and for being models of inspiration to one another, and to others.
Responding to Megan’s advice to stay in school, Edwards said:
“The opportunity to inspire other young girls is just incredible. Hopefully, I get to inspire other girls outside of hockey. You (Megan) inspired me, and you don’t play hockey. It’s just that authenticity and drive, like you going to school, and being a badass.”
“This is emotional. Cause we are twins. You inspire me,” said Megan.
Of course, it wouldn’t be Megan Thee Stallion if she weren’t passing on her significant move, the twerk. At one point, her attribution in one of the episodes read ‘Twerk Instructor’, and she almost had Chef Pietro invent the ‘Twerkollini’.
But what comes through the series is her genuineness. Her instinctual way of hyping up people around her in a manner that comes out as honest and genuine rather than fake. Like a child, full of energy and excitement to experience everything, she inadvertently ends up igniting others’ energies too.
Episodes of the short series racked up 154,000 views a day after they went up on her YouTube page, with the latest episode drawing 1,323 views in less than an hour after release. The singer might have found a new niche for herself.
