Skales Warns Music Industry Rivalries Could Lead to Loss of Lives

Nigerian singer Skales has urged artistes and their supporters to stop fuelling hostility in the music industry, warning that persistent rivalries could eventually have tragic consequences.

The singer raised the concern in a post on X, where he called for greater respect and urged those involved in music-related feuds to reconsider how far such conflicts could go.

“One day, all this beef that y’all are promoting will cause the loss of lives in this Nigerian music industry,” he wrote.

“Please, y’all better stop before it’s too late. Love is cheaper than hate, so is respect.”

Skales also reflected on some of the difficulties he says he has encountered during his career, alleging that people he once regarded as allies betrayed him, spread falsehoods about him, and labeled him jealous after gaining greater prominence.

“In this industry, I was betrayed, lied upon, and called a jealous person. People that I thought we were on the same team told many lies about me because they got the spotlight and sold different agendas pushed to downplay my greatness,” he said.

Despite those experiences, Skales said he has remained relevant after two decades in the music industry, attributing his resilience to God’s mercy and his mother’s influence.

“God bless my mom for teaching me how to pray,” he added.
